Cookie Policy
Last updated: 6 November 2024
This policy explains how Express Import uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, what they are used for, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how their site is used. Similar technologies, such as local storage and tracking pixels, work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy.
2. Our current use of cookies
This website has deliberately been built as a lightweight, static site. We do not currently use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to build a profile of you or to track you across other websites. Our typeface is served from our own server rather than a third party, so visiting the site does not share your details with a font provider.
Any cookies set are strictly necessary for the site to function and to keep it secure. Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
3. Categories of cookie
The categories below explain the types of cookie a site like ours may use. We will update this policy, and introduce a consent banner, before setting any non-essential cookies.
| Category | Purpose | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Enable core functionality such as page delivery, security and submitting an enquiry form. The site cannot work properly without them. | No |
| Functional | Remember choices you make, such as a preference or a previously viewed model, to improve your experience. | Yes |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are popular and where people encounter difficulty — so we can improve it. | Yes |
| Marketing | Measure the effectiveness of campaigns or show relevant advertising on other websites. | Yes |
4. Consent
Where we introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before they are set, make it as easy to refuse as to accept, and allow you to change your mind at any time. We will not treat continued use of the site as consent.
5. Third-party content
If we later embed content from another provider — for example a video player, a map or a chat widget — that provider may set its own cookies. Where that happens we will list the provider here and, where consent is required, only load the content once you have agreed.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them individually or entirely, and block them from being set. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of some websites working correctly, though this site is designed to remain usable.
Guidance for the common browsers is available in their help pages, under headings such as “Cookies and site data” or “Privacy and security”.
7. Server logs
Separately from cookies, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs recording information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. These are used for security and to diagnose technical problems, and are covered by our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever our use of cookies changes, and revise the “last updated” date shown at the top.
